Sip & Savor

Color Outside The Heinz

New to the farmer's market circuit, Chago's Chipotle is a time-tested family recipe from Mexico brought to Houston by a local couple.

Bland is for babies.

Your cooking skills are barely passable, so mask your dishes with a liberal douse of Chago's Chipotle, a small business that grew out of the pandemic. Local couple Santiago Leon and Tye Griffith have bottled up his 30-year-old family recipe from Mexico (Chago is a nickname). The perfect blend of spicy, sweet, and smokey, the everyday condiment kicks up burgers, hummus, sausage, tacos, salads and even pizza. Try it as a marinade or mix it with mayo for a gourmet aioli. Meet the couple at the Houston Heights Market on White Oak this Sun, July 25, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. to sample the goodness.

Serrano it's right.
