Walk downtown on any given night, and you will realize that Austin is a true melting pot. Even though queso plays the main character in our city story, we have to be hospitable and tip our hats to internationally driven taste buds.

Thai Fresh, the gourmet Asian store that just opened its doors last week, is doing its part to feed our need for non-queso cuisine. Her Royal Thai-ness, Jam Sanitchat, brings us a one-stop shop for authentic Thai ingredients and in-house made dinners on the fly, offering entertaining cooking classes and shareable knowledge of the Thai culture. Unlike typical teach-and-eats, everything you learn can be purchased in-store.

Now if only peanut sauce and melted cheese could learn to make nice…
