Meet the Juice Girl

This summer, we can't help but notice the sunny truck driving around town offering refreshing (and healthy) treats. We caught up with Gretchen Hawkins, the owner of the two food trucks Juice Girl and Snow Cone Angels to find out how she keeps Houston cool.

Tidbits: Were you always into juicing?

Gretchen: My background is in pet care, but I worked at a juice bar in my 20s and fell in love with the healing aspect of juicing.

Tidbits: What's your favorite fruit and juice?

Gretchen: Grapefruit, blueberries and pineapple. My favorite juice creations are the Juice Girl Punch and Apple'ade.

Tidbits: What's The Green Beast?

Gretchen: LOTS of green vegetables. It's good for diabetics (as it's low in sugar), and also good for cleanses and maintenance.

Tidbits: What makes your cones so cool?

Gretchen: Snow Cone Angels' cones are different than regular snow cones because our flavors are all natural and organic.

Tidbits: Favorite flavor?

Gretchen: We have some great (and unique!) flavor combos - my favorites are blackberry lavender and pineapple jalapeno.

Tidbits: When you aren't drinking juice and eating snow cones, what's your fave food to chow on?

Gretchen: Indian!
