You Need To See :: The Statler

A special guest attends back-to-back official grand opening events for The Statler this week.

The Statler
1914 Commerce St.

No matter how high the thread count of your sheets or plush the towels by your tub, nothing beats the feeling of checking in for a staycation.

If you need an excuse to book a night to mark the rebirth of The Statler, here's one with four legs. An unofficial mascot of the iconic, renovated hotel, a live llama will wander through the property every night this week, Feb 27 - March 2, from 5 - 10 p.m. during the series of festivities that serve as the official grand opening. There's also a glimmering llama sculpture near the swank rooftop pool bar, Waterproof, and the cutie creatures adorn the sangria cups at Scout. More things to check out when you check in: millennial pink bathrooms, the Take It Easy mural by a Texas female artist at new, diner-style Overeasy, and brand new, sleek retail pop-up Unbranded, currently stocking local women's lines Modern + Soul and Ora et Labora.

Bell hop to it.
