Meet the Mother of Yarn Bombing

Magda Sayeg has balls, and she's bringing them to Austin.

"Incidents and Accidents" at Preacher Gallery
(Through March 1)
119 W. 8th St.

Prepare to throw a knit fit.

Magda Sayeg, the former Austinite who the New York Times and NPR calls the mother of yarn bombing, has returned for her "Incidents and Accidents" solo show at Preacher Gallery. Swing by for the opening reception TONIGHT, Friday, February 1, from 6-9 p.m. to sip a cocktail while viewing the beautiful pieces she's knitted. The master artist has been tapped to travel the world to cover (or yarn bomb) doubledecker buses, phone booths, museums, street lamps, statues and even parts of the Brooklyn headquarters of Etsy with her extraordinary knitting, and tonight is your chance to see her in Austin.
It's really gonna needle you if you miss it.
